NewsWelcoming El Buen SamaritanoSt. John's is very pleased that our brothers and sisters of La Iglesia Episcopal del Buen Samaritano, the Spanish-langauge Episcopal congregation of San Francisco's Mission District, will be joining us on Julian Avenue, beginning the first Sunday of Advent, November 30. We will be equal partners in leading Episcopal worship and serving our Mission neighborhood. Led by Vicar Rev. Gloria del Castillo, Buen Samaritano has been a Mission-neighborhood community for many years, but without a permanent worship space. We are very happy to make a home together now, at the address of the third-oldest parish in the Episcopal Dioecese of California.
We celebrated Advent and Christmas 2008 together, with joint, bilingual services. Beginning in January, St. John's moved our Sunday English-language service to 10:15 am, and El Buen Samaritano began holding their Spanish-language service at 12:30 pm. We join together with Buen Samaritano for a joint Godly Play children's program at 11:30 am .Buen Samaritano members come from around the Spanish-speaking world, including El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and the United States. Both Buen Samaritano and St. John's welcome you to join us in this new ministerial partnership. Las Iglesias Catolicas Episcopales de San Juan Evangelista y El Buen Samaritano les dan la Bienvenida.

I confess as brother from the Societ Saint Francis that I am feel very well in that parish and now trying to help with latino peoples and sometimes too with Madre Ana of El Bueno Pastor in Redwood City. It is about almost 4 months that I coming there and participate the borth services english and spanish. I try be a member eficient for this one Parish, until now I am going there be together and discover my gifts and what God wanna me to do this Communit. But I think that my presence is good and I can do someting, I can share my life with them and make a good relationship with the Parish and his rector of the St JOhn the Evangelist and in this side with Spanish with Gloria Castillho in special this community that I am present almost all the time and when they need me becourse they know that can account on me in this service and ministeries around.

I hope too as soon as possible take my permission of the Bishop Mark and is coming I can make more than today, becourse I feel need say mass and learning more about the liturgies and spirituality with them..the mass has a nice and important means for me..I hope so the BIshop can need my ministeries too in this size...and in this mission. Hope God hel me and them for all us be the best we can do.

I had been almost all wednesday for meeting with Rev.Castilho and prepare the mission and help her with Fernando, Fr Richard and a Organist that give for this community for put woship and grace to God in the mass on sunday 12:30pm. Until now they services is happing with nice songs and good interesting in prayer and Eucarist service very well for all the community..The people is coming there and enjoy. By my side I am happy becourse I have oportunity to preach in spanish, somthing like "portunol, becourse my spanish is not very clear. My mother's language is portuguese,,but we can understand each other in the community.

Well after the meeting on Werdnesday we go to the Center Laitin next to the Parish. There we can take lunch together with the people and lot of them coming from Mexico, Guatemala, El Savador, NIcaragua, Centro America and someones coming to the Cuba. It is very interestong learning about the culture, situations politica and faifh of each one them we grew up day by day when we receive hope and give hope for the people, when we offer love and friendship and help sometimes..theses peoples are looking for conpassion, loves, comprenhension and respect , and justice..I thing they enjoy when some religiousmember is coming there for visit and take a good conversatin, sometimes is need preecher for them or invite him to the church, but only presence and love can make the difference.It is evangelization too..I think it is the some in the church when it offer conpassion, hospitality and love and when her live the authentic call of Jesus to the life.

I had been in El Bueno Pastor and meeting with Mother Ana for his commuity, and one day special becourse in the church was receive for baptism some people and the same for the confirmation in the church. In that one day the people was very happy with very good song, a good team of youang people serve the altar together with Mother Ana and the Bishop Stevens and I have opportunit to serve with them to the altar in that one celebrations so happy and gracious to God.The community is grew up day by day too. The ministeries there is wonderful too.. I am trying coming there sometime for serve but we go there for frequently serve the altar, preparing the poeple for confirmations, cathecism and class of spiritualy..help in all thing that one community need.Well I am here and dedicate my skill in this ministeries and Saint John The Evangelist. I offer all my gif for serve in the name of GOd.

Permita-me que eu me apresente. Sou irmao Ivanildo. Pertenco a Ordem religiosa.Por ordem religiosa entende-se por uma organizacao religiosa,com fins religiosos no servico e na doacao a vida aos irmaos e a Igreja. A ordem religiosa e formado por seus membros consagrados atraves dos votos solenes diante da Congregacao e da Igreja que prometem servir a Deus e aos Irmaos fazendo e cumprindo os seus votos religiosos: Pobreza, Castidader e Obediencia. Com estes votos religiosos os irmaos ou irmas vivem um estilo de vida nao secular, mas em comunidade.A Igreja Episcopal assim bem como as Igrejas de tradicao catolica ou ate mesmo evangelicas ,adotam este estilo de vida vendo-os nele uma maneira de ser e de pertenca a Igreja e a Comunidade. Nenhuma comunidade religiosa vive isolada da Igreja. Igreja e comunidade religiosa ,quando entendidas nesta dimensao, fazem a diferenca na estrutura da Igreja como pertenca ao anseios e designios de Deus.
Eu irmao Ivanildo, pertenco a Sociedade de San Francisco Provincia das Americas. Sou brasileiro e professei a minha vida religiosa em Abril no dia 16 de maio de 2006, quando nosso Provincial Br.Jude, Br Tom ,Br.Antonio Sato recebeu os meus votos e de meu irmao Frei Cesar no Brasil.Desde entao fazemos parte da Sociedade de san Francisco como familia de irmaos professos na grande familia da Igreja e aqui estou para servir.Cheguei aos Esados UNidos no dia 01 de agosto de 2008 para dar prosseguimento a formacao religiosa que todos irmaos devem seguir e cumprir. A pedido da Provincia e do meu Provincial aqui estou. Aqui estou para servir a Igreja e minha comunidade em suas nescessidades.Atualmente desenvolvo ministerios em varios lugares durante a semana desde a Fundacao de Santo Antonio, Advent Christ, Center Latino, St.Martim de Poors e outros setores. Desde que aqui cheguei estou realizando estes trabalhos como parte de minha formacao e de meu servicos na doacao de minha vida e do servico a Igreja. Tenho participado de todas as Igrejas paroquias ate 3 meses atras, quajdo me identifiquei a Paroquia de Sao Joao o Batista, por ter ela tambem um ministerio HIspanico edesde entao estou frequentando a Igreja regularmente ao Domingos aos dois servicos:Ingles e espanhol.Participar dos servicos desta Igreja me deixa mais alinhado a sua dimensao e sua maneira de ser Igreja e de viver minha concepcao como frade Franciscano.Ambos os servicos sao de ajuda para mim quer seja no desenvolver de minhas funcoes bem como de meus ministerios.Estou aqui para servir esta paroquia no que for nescessario.
Aqui vou relatar um episodio que me chamou atencao, justamente uma semana antes da Quaresta, que e a 4.0 feira de Cinzas momento de reflexao e de penitencia. Fomos no dia 25 de fevereiro as 7:15 a 16th /MISSION BART PLAZ para oferecer as pessoas este momento util e propicio para a reflexao e benevolencia da Graca de Deus.Realmente confesso que foi um moemnto muito importnate para mim e creio que para as pessoas que passavam por nos e mesmo muitos sem entenderem bem iam ate o padre da Paroquia e Reverenda Gloria e nos membros da Paroquia para receber a bencao e a imposicao das Cinzas. Eu fiquei encantado com esta maneira de ser da Igreja Episcopal aqui, tendo em vista que no Brasil a linha e mais evangelica do que aqui. Entretanto, admirei profundamente o trabalho e que os padres exerceram muito bem nesta quarta feira de cinzas.Para mim foi mas uam experiencia de vida e de visao daquilo que a Igreja Episcopal esta fazendo aqui em seu ministerio de vida e de suma Apostolica que e ir de encontro com a o anuncio de CRisto NOsso Salvador. Parabens aoParoco e creio que de modo geral a esta equipe que sem emdo e sem vergonha acreditavam no que estavam fazendo.
Um experiencia de vida, uma experiencia da missao e busca do povo, trazer de volta aqueles que por um momento estao longe ou distante e que nescessitam retonrar. As cinzas representam sem sombra de duvida um convite ao retorno. Realemnte fantastico, realmente sublime, naturalmente bom demais esta missao.

Allow me to present I am Br. Ivanildo.I Belongs to the O religious Order. Religious Order is defined by a religious organization, with service religious purposes and donation to the brothers and the church life. A religious order is formed by their members through dedicated solemn votes in front of the congregation and the Church that promise to serve God and to the brothers doing and fulfilling their religious vows: poverty, chastity and obedience. With these votes, the religious brothers or sisters living a lifestyle not secular, but in communit life.A Episcopal Church as well as the churches of Catholic tradition or even evangelical, adopt this style of life seeing them there a way to be and belongs to the Church and Community. No religious community living in isolated church, And religious community, when understood in this dimension, make the difference in the structure of the Church as belonging to the wishes and desires of God. I belongs to Society of San Francisco Province of the Americas. I professed my life religious and religious vows in April on July 17, 2006, where our Provincial Br.Jude, Br Tom, Br.Antonio Sato received my vows and of the my brother Cesar in Brasil. Since then do the Society of San Francisco as a family of brothers professed the great family of the Church and I'm here for the serve .I arrived here in the Unite State on 01 August 2008 to continue training religious brothers that all must follow and comply. At the request of State and Provincial here I am. I am here to serve the church and my community in theirs needs. Actually develops my ministries in several places during the week, since the St, Anthony Foundations, Advent Christ, Latino Center, St.Martim of Poor’s and other sectors. Since I arrived here I am doing this work as part of my training and my service in the gift of my life and service of the Church. I have participated in all church parishes until 3 months ago, I identified of the the Parish of St. John the Baptist, for it also a Hispanic ministry and since then I'm attending the church regularly for the two Sunday services: English and Spanish .I am attend of the borth services of this church ,makes me more aligned to their size and their way of being Church and living my design and basking Franciscan.BOrth services are of help to me either in the development of my functions as well as my ministries.Estou here to serve this parish where necessary. Here I report an episode that I drew attention, just one week before Quaresm that Ash Wednesday and 4.0 times of reflection and penance. We were on 25 February the 16th to 7:15 / Mission BART Plaza for the people that offer useful and propitious moment for reflection and benevolence of the grace of God .Really I confess it was a moment very important for me and I think for people who passed by us and that many would not feel well until the priest of the parish and Reverend Gloria and members of the parish to receive the blessing and imposition of ashes. I was delighted with the way the Episcopal Church to be here, considering that in Brazil the line and more evangelical than here. However, ADIM deeply and the work that parents put very well in this Wednesday for me was Ashes .For many it was a experience of life and vision of what the Episcopal Church is doing here in your life and ministry of the Apostolic service and go to Meeting with the announcement of Christ our Savior. Congratulations to the Parish and I think in general this team, without shame and without scared or afraid believed in doing. An experience of life, an experience of mission and search for people, bring back those who are away for a moment or distant and necessary to return. The ashes represent without a doubt an invitation to return. Really fantastic, really sublime, of course too good this mission. Thank God for giving me the opportunity and the freedom of choice



Biblical means about it..
Ash Wednesday is a day of repentanse and it marks the beginning of Lent. Ashes were used in ancient times, according to the Bible, to express mourning. Dusting oneself with ashes was the penitent's way of expressing sorrow for sins and faults. An ancient example of one expressing one's penitence is found in Job 42:3-6. Job says to God: "I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes." (vv. 5-6, KJV) Other examples are found in several other books of the Bible including, Numbers 19:9, 19:17, Jonah 3:6, Matthew 11:21, and Luke 10:13, and Hebrews 9:13. Ezekiel 9 also speaks of a linen-clad messenger marking the forehead of the city inhabitants that have sorrow over the sins of the people. All those without the mark are destroyed.
However, some Adventists who do not celebrate Ash Wednesday say that the practice is not consistent with Scripture and is of pagan origin.[13] They usually cite Matthew 6:16–18, where Jesus gave prescriptions for fasting: "And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." (NRSV) These groups argue that Jesus warned against fasting to gain favor from other people and that he also warned his followers that they should fast in private, not letting others know they were fasting. For these reasons, some Christian denominations do not endorse the practice. Others, however, point out that this very passage from Matthew is the one, not coincidentally, that is appointed by the Revised Common Lectionary to be read on Ash Wednesday. They might also clarify that the ashen Cross on the forehead does not represent the fast, but the mortal (fallen) condition of human existence. And they would refer to Jesus' words whereby he expected people to repent using sackcloth and ashes: "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes." (Luke 10:13; see also Matthew 11:21)

NUEVO OBISPO PARA LA DIOCESE CENTRAL DE ECUADOR

La Cámara de Obispos de la Iglesia Episcopal en Estados Unidos en su reunión de primavera en Kanuga, Carolina del Norte, eligió el 17 de marzo a Luis Fernando Ruiz Restrepo, 53, como obispo de la diócesis central de Ecuador con sede en Quito. Ruiz obtuvo 108 votos de los 120 obispos votantes. Nacido en Barranquilla, el nuevo obispo fue abogado antes de su ordenación sacerdotal en 1990. Su consagración como obispo tendrá lugar el primero de agosto en Quito. Su esposa, Tania Jaramillo, doctorada en derecho trabaja en el campo de los bienes raíces.

A Sociedade de São Francisco (SSF), de modo especial a fraternidade do Brasil, que pertence à Provincia das Américas, se alegra pelo recebimento de mais um jovem que decide seguir a Regra de São Francisco de modo mais específico.

Elton foi recebido pelo Frei Richard Jonathan (à direita na foto ao lado), Guardião de Noviços, no último domingo, dia 18 de janeiro, como postulante. O Postulantado, que, em média, dura seis meses, é a fase inicial de formação para aqueles que desejam pertencer à Ordem Franciscana ou mesmo em outras ordens religiosas. Nesse período, o formando recebe orientações sobre a vida religiosa e tem um acompanhamento mais de perto pelos responsáveis pela formação, nesse caso pelo Guardião de Noviços ou mesmo por outro frade que torna-se tutor do postulante.

Elton é natural de Itapeva, cidade do Estado de São Paulo e mora com família em Guarulhos. Tem 22 anos e trabalha como Assistente Administrativo numa empresa privada. Foi recebido no ano passado na Comunhão Anglicana pelo Bispo Diocesano de São Paulo, +Roger Bird, e atualmente é membro da Paróquia Anglicana de São João, em Pinheiros. Atua no grupo que distribui o Sopão ao povo de rua nas noites de sexta-feira.

Desejo compartir com os irmaos meus desejos de oracao de paz e justica por todo o mundo e semear com a oracao a semente da paz e da mudanca do coracao.

Orem comigo neste dia, pelos Paises da Africa que passam por crises economicas, politicas e em seus coracoes..lembrem em especial Rwanda, Uganda,Zimbabwe e paises de lina muculmanda onde a minoria crista e esmagada com forca e rivalidade..Oremos..

Viver o Evangelho franciscanamente
Francisco de Assis, com sua forma de vida inspirada no Evangelho, toma-se sinal de esperança para os homens do futuro, como promotores da fraternidade, da paz, da justiça, da solidariedade e da partilha.

Seu apelo ressoa forte e vigoroso. Sua mensagem é sempre atual, porque foi e é uma mensagem de Paz e Bem. O seu projeto de vida, inspirado no Evangelho, torna-o sinal de pobreza, fraternidade e paz.

Qual seria o segredo de Francisco, para orientar sua vida ao encontro dos homens e da história? Dir-se-ia que foram três fortes motivações ou fontes que o levaram a esta atitude de vida: o envio dos discípulos, a exigência de uma vida pobre e a mensagem de paz.

O mundo estava em ebulição. A mensagem evangélica devia acompanhar os passos desta transformação, mas sem o signo da dominação e do poder. Só pelo caminho da mobilidade evangélica e da pobreza construir-se-á a comunhão fraterna e a reconciliação entre pessoas e povos.

Francisco tinha um objetivo muito claro: levar Deus aos homens e levar os homens a Deus, tendo o Evangelho como ponto de partida e ponto de chegada. Este ideal vivido por Francisco toma-se uma provocação para o seu tempo, pois ele queria levar as pessoas à transformação pessoal e comunitária.

A tradição nos conta que, no eremitério de Poggio Bustone, envolvido por tribulações e sofrimentos, Francisco faz o primeiro envio de seus irmãos, com a mensagem franciscana de "O Senhor vos dê a paz" (ICel 23), ou "Paz e Bem." E nos povoados do Vale de Rieti, introduziu a saudação: "Buon giorno, buona gente"! - "Bom dia, gente boa"! Revela-se aqui a personalidade deste homem evangélico, promotor da paz e da fraternidade.

Queridos amigos e amigas!!..E uam satisfacao relatar mais um episodio acontecido no mes de Outubro na Cidade de San Francisco-USA.
Como parte da Diocese que somos e como grupo religioso que somos e fazemos parte da Sociedade de Sao Francisco, fomos convidados todos a participar da COnvencao desta Diocese que aconteceu no dia 13 de Outubro e que por

coincidencia, pois nao sabia da Visita do Bispo de Curitiba, pude encontra-lo no Salguao da Catedral ,evidentemente no dia anterior a Convencao propriamente dita..Na Sexta feira iniciou o Concilium da Igreja com adoracao e louvor ao Deus Trino, alem da belissima musica e da Eucaristia ,que foi celebrada e fora cantada pelo Arcebispo Marc...A HOmilia ficou por conta do BIspo de Curitba ,que pregou muito bem e infatizou adinamica do espirito de luta e de encorajamento, chmaando a vida e a partilha na dimensao da Konomia..Enfim serviu-se de uma interprete , para que assim seu trabalho fosse muito bem realizado..Enfim sua mensagem foi transmitida.Distribui a comunhao junto commo BIspo Marc e um Sacerdote anglicano de Curitiba que estava entre a sua comitiva,,,A Reverenda Carmem Etel,que e marco historico no Brasil em se tratando de primeira mulher a ser Ordenada sacerdote..etc.Apos a Missa como ja foi falado no texto logo acima,,,tivemos uma danceteria com musicas tipicas do Brasil e dancas folcloricas, as quais sao muito popular no Brasil.Os bispos participaram com alegria desta comunhao tambem.Pude conversar um pouco co O Bispo de Curitiba Dom Naudal e Carmem Etel,,nao pude alargar muito a conversa pois foi um dia muito atarefado..mais memso assim podemos compartir juntos.Certamente Dom Naudal teve a possibilidade de conhecer um grupo de franciscanos, que estavam na catedral,sendo apresentados por alguns: Br Simon, Br Maximilamno, Richard ja conhecido. Este ultimo desde uma visita ao Brasil em 2007 juntamente com o Padre FOx,,e Conheceu o nosso Provincial Br Jude Hill no dia seguinte no salgao de Palestras que foram apresentados pelo Br Richard JOnathan.
Enfim fora um momento muito agradavel..foi uma penaa que noa houve um tmepo pra ele visitar nossas Comunidades aqui na Bahia de San Francisco..Mas teremos outras oportunidades com a graca de Deus.E este encontro para nos tem significado importante, pois no Brasil se sonha ainda com uma possibilidade de no futuro estabelecer uma casa da familia franciscana com irmaos do Brasil.Sem duvida podemos levar isto em sonhos, pois a verdadeira resposta disto cabe ao Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. Certamente que o BIspo seja ele quem for e de onde quer que ele venha,,ele deve entender da vida religiosa e compreender a dimensao de grandesa quando irmaos de uma ordem deseja viver a vida da Igreja na Comunidade e assim assumir seu compromisso segundo o carisma do fundador..Tenho certeza que o BIspo e Curitiba nos olharar com carinho e dimensao esta nossa escolha por opcao e por sentir a vida de Francicano compartivel com o chamado a vida de doacao, amor e compaixao pelos irmaos que sofrem e daqueles que veem nos franciscanos um irmao a servir e cooperar.

Franciscan Brothers meet with the Bishop Dom Naudal of Curitiba

Dear friends and friends! .. It is a satisfaction with another episode happened in the month of October in the City of San Francisco-USA.
As part of the diocese we are and how religious group and that we are part of the Society of St. Francis, we were all invited to attend the Convention of this Diocese that happened on October 13, and that by coincidence, not because he knew the visit of the Bishop of Curitiba, I could find it in Salguao the Cathedral of course the day before the convention itself .. On Friday started the Convention with worship and praise to God Trino, besides the beautiful music and the Eucharist, which was celebrated and outside sung by Archbishop Marc ... The homily was for the Bishop of Curitba, who preached very well and put in deep the adynamia the spirit of struggle and encouragement, calling life and sharing in the size of the Konomia .. Anyway his message was transmitida.Distribui communion with the Bishop How Marc and an Anglican priest from Curitiba that was among his entourage,,, The Reverend Carmen Etel, and that milestone in history Brazil in the case of the first woman to be ordained .. etc.Apos the Mass as has been discussed in the text immediately above, we had a disco with music typical of Brazil and folkloric dances, which are very popular in Brasil. bishops participated with joy this communion tambem.Pude talk a little part of Curitiba Bishop Dom Naudal and Carmen Etel, I was unable to extend the conversation because it was very a very busy day .. more that way to share together.
Certainly the Naudal had a possibility to meet a group of Franciscans, who were in the cathedral, being presented by some: Br Simon, Br Maximilamno, Richard already known. The latter provided a visit to Brazil in 2007 together with Father Fox, and knew our Provincial Br Jude Hill the following day in salgao of Talks which were presented by Jonathan Richard Br.
Finally off a very pleasant moment .. It is unfortunate that there wasn"t for him visit our communities here in Bay Area .. But we have other opportunities with the grace of God. this meeting for us ithas important significance, because in Brazil is still a dream in the future possibility of establishing a family's home with Franciscan brothers of Brasil.Sem doubts can take it in dreams, because the real answer to this lies our Lord Jesus Christ. Certainly, the bishop is he who is and wherever it comes, he must understand the religious life and understand the magnitude of bigness when an order of brothers want to live the life of the Church in Community and thereby take their commitment the charisma of the founder .. Convention 2008

During the week of October 13, the Diocese of California engaged in convention activities, concluding with the business meeting on Saturday, October 18. Convention week opened with regional events on Monday and Wednesday evening, led by the Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus, bishop of California, the Rt. Rev. Steven Charleston, assistant bishop of California, and the Rt. Rev. Naudal Alves Gomes, the bishop of Curitiba, Brazil, companion diocese to the Diocese of California. On Friday, a Eucharist service was held at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, followed by a dance party on the cathedral’s plaza. On Saturday, over 400 clergy and lay delegates gathered at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco for Morning Prayer and an address by Andrus. The participants then moved downstairs to Gresham Hall where they voted on committee members, changes to the constitution and canons, and a total of seven resolutions. The regional events at the beginning of the week featured a conversation with the gathered bishops about their experiences at the Lambeth Conference. Then Gomes, his wife Carmen Regina, and his sister Carmem Etel spoke about their home diocese of Curitiba. The evenings concluded with an introduction to a Bible study that can be used in communal discernment for building area ministry.

On the evening of Friday, October 17, the convention Eucharist was celebrated at Grace Cathedral. The service featured liturgical dance expressions by the Omega West Dance Company and the seating of Charleston as assistant bishop to the diocese. “In the face of the reality experienced internally nowadays in the Anglican Church,” Gomes preached, “we need to be more and more engaged with the Good News of reconciliation. With gestures of hospitality and welcome; with attitudes of listening and inclusion of all people; in the search for life in communion, love, and solidarity; others might see our actions and say, ‘They have so much love for one another.’ Who knows, they might even consider this proposal for a life in Christ.”.

Os Delegados Da Diocese Episcopal da California estiveram presentes a Convenção do dia 13 de outubro da Diocese da Califórnia engajados em atividades, conclue-se com reunião de negócios no sábado,18 de outubro . A semana da COnvencao abriu com eventos regionais na segunda-feira e quarta-feira à noite, liderada pela RT. Rev. Handley Marc Andrus, bispo da Califórnia, o RT. Rev. Steven Charleston, bispo auxiliar da Califórnia, e o RT. Rev. Naudal Alves Gomes, o bispo de Curitiba, Brasil, companheiro à Diocese da Califórnia. Na sexta-feira, uma Eucaristia de serviço foi realizada na Catedral Graca em San Francisco, seguida por uma dança cedido pela catedral no Atrio. No sábado, estveram mais de 400 sacerdotes e delegados leigos que se reuniram-na Catedral da Graca em San Francisco para a oração matinal e meditacao no anfiteatro , cuja meditacao fora dirigida por Andrus. Os participantes, em seguida, moveram para Gresham Hall onde eles votaram somo membros da comissão, as alterações à Constituição e dos Cânones, e um total de sete resoluções. Os eventos regionais, no início da semana apresentou uma conversa com os bispos reunidos sobre suas experiências na Conferência Lambeth. Na noite de sexta-feira, 17 de outubro, Na convenção foi celebrada a Eucaristia na Catedral da Graca. O serviço foi caracterizado por manifestações de dança litúrgica Omega West Dance Company e os assentos de Charleston como bispo auxiliar para a diocese. "Em face da realidade vivida hoje no interior da Igreja Anglicana:" pregou Gomes, "temos de ser mais e mais envolvidos com a Boa Nova da reconciliação. Com gestos de hospitalidade e boas vindas, com atitudes de escuta e de inclusão de todas as pessoas, na busca de vida em comunhão, amor e solidariedade, outros poderão ver as nossas acções e diga: "Eles têm tanto amor por uma outra." Quem sabe, eles poderão até considerar esta proposta para uma vida em Cristo. "

FRANCISCANOS ENCONTRAM-SE COM O bISPO DE CURITIBA NA CONVENCAO DA DIOCESE DE SAN FRANCISCO...

Queridos amigos e amigas!!..E uam satisfacao relatar mais um episodio acontecido no mes de Outubro na Cidade de San Francisco-USA.
Como parte da Diocese que somos e como grupo religioso que somos e fazemos parte da Sociedade de Sao Francisco, fomos convidados todos a participar da COnvencao desta Diocese que aconteceu no dia 13 de Outubro e que por coincidencia, pois nao sabia da Visita do Bispo de Curitiba, pude encontra-lo no Salguao da Catedral ,evidentemente no dia anterior a Convencao propriamente dita..Na Sexta feira iniciou o Concilium da Igreja com adoracao e louvor ao Deus Trino, alem da belissima musica e da Eucaristia ,que foi celebrada e fora cantada pelo Arcebispo Marc...A HOmilia ficou por conta do BIspo de Curitba ,que pregou muito bem e infatizou adinamica do espirito de luta e de encorajamento, chmaando a vida e a partilha na dimensao da Konomia..Enfim serviu-se de uma interprete , para que assim seu trabalho fosse muito bem realizado..Enfim sua mensagem foi transmitida.Distribui a comunhao junto commo BIspo Marc e um Sacerdote anglicano de Curitiba que estava entre a sua comitiva,,,A Reverenda Carmem Etel,que e marco historico no Brasil em se tratando de primeira mulher a ser Ordenada sacerdote..etc.Apos a Missa como ja foi falado no texto logo acima,,,tivemos uma danceteria com musicas tipicas do Brasil e dancas folcloricas, as quais sao muito popular no Brasil.Os bispos participaram com alegria desta comunhao tambem.Pude conversar um pouco co O Bispo de Curitiba Dom Naudal e Carmem Etel,,nao pude alargar muito a conversa pois foi um dia muito atarefado..mais memso assim podemos compartir juntos.Certamente Dom Naudal teve a possibilidade de conhecer um grupo de franciscanos, que estavam na catedral,sendo apresentados por alguns: Br Simon, Br Maximilamno, Richard ja conhecido. Este ultimo desde uma visita ao Brasil em 2007 juntamente com o Padre FOx,,e Conheceu o nosso Provincial Br Jude Hill no dia seguinte no salgao de Palestras que foram apresentados pelo Br Richard JOnathan.
Enfim fora um momento muito agradavel..foi uma penaa que noa houve um tmepo pra ele visitar nossas Comunidades aqui na Bahia de San Francisco..Mas teremos outras oportunidades com a graca de Deus.E este encontro para nos tem significado importante, pois no Brasil se sonha ainda com uma possibilidade de no futuro estabelecer uma casa da familia franciscana com irmaos do Brasil.Sem duvida podemos levar isto em sonhos, pois a verdadeira resposta disto cabe ao Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. Certamente que o BIspo seja ele quem for e de onde quer que ele venha,,ele deve entender da vida religiosa e compreender a dimensao de grandesa quando irmaos de uma ordem deseja viver a vida da Igreja na Comunidade e assim assumir seu compromisso segundo o carisma do fundador..Tenho certeza que o BIspo e Curitiba nos olharar com carinho e dimensao esta nossa escolha por opcao e por sentir a vida de Francicano compartivel com o chamado a vida de doacao, amor e compaixao pelos irmaos que sofrem e daqueles que veem nos franciscanos um irmao a servir e cooperar.

Franciscan Brothers meet with the Bishop Dom Naudal of Curitiba

Certainly the Naudal had a possibility to meet a group of Franciscans, who were in the cathedral, being presented by some: Br Simon, Br Maximilamno, Richard already known. The latter provided a visit to Brazil in 2007 together with Father Fox, and knew our Provincial Br Jude Hill the following day in salgao of Talks which were presented by Jonathan Richard Br.
Finally off a very pleasant moment .. It is unfortunate that there wasn"t for him visit our communities here in Bay Area .. But we have other opportunities with the grace of God. this meeting for us ithas important significance, because in Brazil is still a dream in the future possibility of establishing a family's home with Franciscan brothers of Brasil.Sem doubts can take it in dreams, because the real answer to this lies our Lord Jesus Christ. Certainly, the bishop is he who is and wherever it comes, he must understand the religious life and understand the magnitude of bigness when an order of brothers want to live the life of the Church in Community and thereby take their commitment the charisma of the founder ..
